ElseWear Collective is a knitwear label founded on creating luxury handmade apparel on a limited and domestic scale. Designed, knitted, and hand finished in Denver, Colorado, all ElseWear Collective pieces are individually constructed with careful attention to detail.
One-of-a-kind garments are all crafted using a hand-powered domestic knitting machine, a slow and meticulous process. This creates a fully fashioned product, meaning each piece is knit to the exact shape and size so there is no left over material and limited waste. The collection is made using only 100% Extra Fine Merino Wool, cashmere, cotton, and alpaca. ElseWear Collective is excited to announce that we are now sourcing from a local Colorado fiber mill called The Good Shepherd. They raise, sheer, and process their own alpaca fiber and we are thrilled to incorporate it into our collection.
ElseWear Collective is dedicated to providing apparel that exudes wearability and effortless style devoted to quality over quantity.
Each piece is designed and produced by Kelsey Johnson who discovered her love for creating things by hand at a young age and found textiles and fibers as her favored medium.
She attended Colorado State University for undergraduate studies in Apparel Design before receiving her degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, California. She then went on to earn her BFA in Knitwear Design from Academy of Art University before launching her own knitwear company.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, she draws much of her inspiration from the Rocky Mountains, the American Southwest and her Swedish heritage. She enjoys spicy food, crafternooning, Jeeping, traveling, Broncos football, camping, and anything true crime. She also has a strong passion for sustainable practices and ethical manufacturing.
